film and motion

I started this piece about a year ago after I lost my dog. In an effort to cope, I created a little boy named Oliver who was going through the same thing. His robot named Sam was taken from him in the middle of the night without any real warning. But we got through it together. As homage to him and his story, I created “Dismantling Sam”. What started as an in cohesive fever dream turned into a short poem. And under the advice of friends and family, that poem was turned into an animated short film. Whenever you go through something in your life, whether happy or sad, just remember that there is someone else who is going through the same thing, even if you have to make them up. Don’t ever let anyone tell you it isn’t okay to cry. Audio credit to Chris Zabriskie
